INFO: Elk Hunting in Colorado Unit 81

Unit 81 provides an ideal area for glassing elk herds. The various elevation points combined with the expansive valleys create a perfect glassing situation. The elk, like the mule deer, are going to be up higher during the warmer temperatures and will descend into the lower elevations as the weather cools down. The numerous water sources throughout the unit provide a focal point for tracking elk. The availability of OTC elk tags does increase the hunting pressure in this unit.
